The ruins of ancient Nisa are situated
15 km from Ashgabad at the mountainous foot of Kopet-Dag, seat of the Parthian
Kings from the third century ‚‘ to the early third century AD. At the height
of its power Nisa was the capital of an empire stretching west as far as
Iran and Syria. Then transfer east (70 km) to Firyuza Gorge, a former Royal
hunting reserve. Walk to hot springs and visit a cave in Bacharden Place.
Sight-seeing to a cave with a large mineral lake and after a picnic-lunch
transfer to Ashagabad.
