Chimgan Canyon and the high mountainous
resort of the same name are situated 80 km west of Tashkent in the west
Tien-Shan mountains, on the slope of Bolshoi (Big) Chimgan (3309 m).
The road goes by the Chirchik river to this marvelous part of nature. Picturesque villages stretch one by one along the road, some of them alternate with fruit gardens and vineyards.
Further up on Chimgan-sai you will get to Chimgan, situated at an altitude of 1500-1700 m. It is the most popular place to just rest. In the winter it is skiing; in the summer it is short walks, mountainous ascents and paragliding. By chair-ski lift you can rise to the altitude of 2000 m, and enjoy a wonderful panorama of the region. Here you can even ride a horse as you enjoy the views. After the descent to the valley there will be a stop
for a picnic lunch in a picturesque national cafe under millennial chinars
(platans), while enjoying views of rock paintings. After lunch return to
Tashkent.
